Coming Soon! My Review on Mixnature!

Look for my post about this interesting online company!  Should be in the next couple days!

fabfitfun Spring Box Review #2 - Karuna Hydrating Facial Mask

As my last review was a thumbs down...........we are going in the opposite direction this time, and this product gets a BIG thumbs up!

I admit, I am totally obsessed with these facial masks.  I use them 2-3 times per week, and my skin appreciates it a great deal.....especially in the winter months.  It makes my skin feel totally different.

Living in the Midwest is not easy on dry skin, which I have.  So, I am always trying to do something for relief of that dry, tight feeling with the skin on my face.  This new "trend" in the Korean skin-care regime that has swept what seems like the world is awesome...........and if you look at these Korean women, you see their skin is flawless!

I certainly don't pretend to be, or have the delusions of ever being flawless, but if I can do things to help slow down the aging process, I am going to do it.

These are sold in a box of 4, and the retail value is $28.00.
They are 100% all-natural fiber cloth, they visibly hydrate and give you softer, smoother skin.
They also deep condition, with the serum infused into the mask.  You can keep these in the fridge for a more refreshing experience.  I have not done that yet, but I think that will be awesome in the summer!
I usually leave any mask I use on for about 20 minutes.  I feel I see more results that way.

So, this is a BIG

fabfitfun Spring Box Product Review #1 - REALHER Lip Kit

Let me start out by saying I love getting the Seasonal fabfitfun seasonal boxes.  Pretty much I have really enjoyed trying and using the products I have received.  Some of them I would purchase again, and some not so much.  Not just because I did not like them, but some are so expensive I just don't have the budget for them.

Today, I begin the reviews with an item from the spring box that gets a BIG

This is the REALHER Lip Kit.  I was so excited to try this after reading about the Dad who created this line as he "wanted to give my daughter a way to start her day that made her feel great."  This did not make me feel great.  In particular the liquid lipstick.  It was the worst I have tried so far in the many liquid lipsticks I have purchased.  It was extremely drying, and as a matter of fact, I even had a patch of rawness on my lips after only a few hours.  I wore it to work, and had to use makeup remover to take it off, and use something at the store instead that I have in my own collection.

I don't mean that this was no good..........I mean it was awful!!!!!

The colors are very pretty.........but performance?  BAD!

The lip gloss seems ok, but I was not thrilled with the lip liner either.  It was very greasy, and didn't stay in place like you want a lip liner to do.  That is the point of a lip liner......to keep things in place, and from "bleeding" outside your lip line.  Not impressed.

This kit has a retail value of $48.00, so I expected WAY more from this.  This kit will definitely be hitting the trash.

FABFITFUN Spring Box Unveiling!

SO excited to get my FABFITFUN Spring Box today!  So many awesome full size products in this as always!  If you have not heard of FABFITFUN I will post the link below the story so you can check it out.

Seasonally, FFF has a box to purchase.  Everything is always full size and the entire box is worth AT LEAST $200.  This box however is over the moon!  This one has a retail value of $369.00!

FFF is celebrating their 3rd Anniversary so maybe that's why this one is totally packed with goodies!

It's awesome that this box is delivered in a larger box so people can't see what this is if it's left on your front porch.  With this kind of value, I am sure someone would swipe it!

This is the brochure that comes in the box that tells you all about your products.

This was in my e-mail which this is part of what is inside the brochure.

This is the packed box!

Above is a Leave-In Conditioner Spray by BRIOGEO.
I am anxious to try this as my hair tends to get dry from color treatment.
This is a $20.00 value.

WOW!  With this one!  I have always wanted to try this product by dr. brandt, but $79.00 for an exfoliator?  This states Age Defying....so, we shall see!

Not sure why this is upside down!  But, this is a Lip Kit by REALHER.  I got the Deep Red.  It contains a lip liner, liquid lipstick and a lip gloss.  This is a retail value of $48.00.  This is made from natural ingredients, so very excited to try it!  The swatches I did of the three products are below.  The liquid lipstick is a long wear, because I can't get it off my hand!

This was on the floor, and I could not even get it all in the photo!

This this is huge!!

This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!  It's called GYPSY 05, Roundie.  It's a beautiful cloth that you can use in many different ways.  Taking on a picnic, to the beach, maybe a table cloth, or maybe even wear as a shawl if you fold it in 1/2 and drape it over your shoulders!  This is a $50.00 value!

Next is KARUNA Hydrating+ Facial Mask, set of 4.  I love love love this trend in Korean skincare that is sweeping the marketplace.  I probably have 40 face masks in my bathroom right now!  I use them 3-4 times a week, and I love what has been going on with my skin since I started.  The Karuna masks are for dry, dehydrated skin.  With winter just departing, my skin has really appreciated my using masks like this.  I look forward to trying these.  Value of $28.00

Next is a nail polish duo from Deborah Lippmann.  I have heard great things about this polish so I am anxious to try it.  I got the Blue Orchid and the Like a Virgin colors.  The other possible color was "Shape Your Heart".  The duo has a retail value of $19.00.

Next in the box was one of two possible jewelry items.  I received the bracelet by EMERALD DUV called "Joshua Tree" Cage Bracelet.  This is a value of $80.00, and it's so cute!

Lastly, in the regular item in the box is this cute zippered pouch by MILLY.  Mine says SLAY ALL DAY.  This is water-resistant.  If you are traveling to the beach, and on your way home you can put your damp swimsuit inside so it won't get the rest of your clothes wet, or carry liquids in it so they won't leak on your clothes!  This has a retail value of $45.00.

You have the option to do some add-on products which I did this time.  They are as follows:

Always on the search of a great beauty blender.  I will not pay $20.00 for one "Beauty Blender" brand blender!  I refuse!  I really like Real Techniques for $6.00, and Earth Therapudics are great too, and usually on sale!
This blender duo is by the same company that the lip set is from.

This Buff Collection shadow palette by PURE COSMETICS looked so pretty I had to try it.  These are always my "go-to" colors, so this one was right up my alley!
I looked this one up because I could not remember a value, but it says $50.00, and I think I paid $15.00.

Lastly, this is a Bert's Bees Protein Shake.  I am looking forward to trying this!

I will do a review of each product as the weeks progress, so stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed this unveiling, and I have posted this link to FFF down at the bottom here for you!!

FRIDAY FUN FINDS! Lip Stain with 24K Gold Leaf...and a Dried Flower! What??

So, I am a sucker for things that are different.  Especially when they are not expensive.  I am pretty sure this was either on Groupon or WISH, but it was less than $5.00 anyway.  By the name on the side of the tube, it is obviously not made in the USA.  If anyone knows what KAILIJUMEI means, please post a comment below.  I actually looked the product up on Google, and many things popped up.  I am posting a link at the bottom of the review for e-bay.

                                                                The shade is Minutemaid.

This is a very nice product as it actually gives the lips a pastel pink stain, and it stays for hours, even if I wear it under other lip colors.

The purpose for the gold leaf and the flower is really beyond me........but it looks pretty cool anyway!

The Wednesday Word - Dupes That Work!

On my Disney blog ( disneynut1958.blogspot.com ) I do a Wordless Wednesday.  On this blog page however, I am going to do the Wednesday Word about different products that I have tried.

This week I am talking about two makeup removers.  One that is well known and a little pricey, and the other is basically at half the cost.  Which one do I like better?  Read on to find out.

The first product is the newish product from the Clinique line called take-the-day off Cleansing Balm.  Priced at $29.00, it works pretty good.  I have used the liquid version of this for years to remove my eye makeup, but it was suggested to me by someone who works for Clinique, so I tried it.  For this price, I probably won't buy it again,  There is a link below so you can get more information. Another reason I probably won't buy it again is the fact that Clinique is an Estee Lauder Company and they are not a cruelty free company. What I mean by that if you are not familiar is, they do test on animals.

http://www.clinique.com/product/1673/6424/skin-care/cleansers-makeup-removers/take-the-day-off-cleansing-balm

The other product I have discovered, I am totally in love with.  At $14.00 it does the same thing, AND works even better.  This is called Chateau Labiotte Demaquillant Sorbet, and it is made in Korea.  Yup...it's a mouthful, but this product is work learning about.  I discovered it on Memebox.com, and there is a link below that will take you right to the item.  I am still gathering information about this company and if they do or do not do animal testing.  I am leaning towards no, but I will follow up with this information when I find out.  They are a botanic based line, and go by the seven principles of Naturopothy.

With both, you scoop some out on your hands, and then rub your fingers together to soften the balm and then rub onto the face. The product by Clinique does not come with a paddle to scoop out the product like the Labiotte does.  I let it sit for about 30 seconds, and then take a regular makeup wipe to remove the product and all traces of makeup from my face.  This really gets every bit of foundation, powder, blush, bronzer, etc. off my skin.  I still use a facial cleanser after this, as I cannot go to bed with anything on my face.  First off, it's not good for your skin to go to sleep with makeup on, and my sheets would not like it either!!  After washing my face, my skin is then ready for my night treatment.

So, did you guess which one I like the best?  I bet you can tell!

The link to the Labiotte Company is below, and after that is the link to Memebox where I ordered this makeup remover.  (It's in the cutest packaging too....looks like a wine glass!)

FUN FINDS FRIDAY! Fake Nails!

So, one of the girls I work with has beautiful nails.  I complimented her on them, and she says....they are fake!  So my response was "oh...acrylics are so hard on my nails, it takes them months to recover".  She then says to me....."no, I mean they are REALLY fake...as in Press On!" So, of course I had to try them.

Granted, they don't stay on like acrylics done at the salon, but on the same token..........no damage, and you are not stuck for weeks.  I just can't do the acrylic from the salon anymore.  I still have damage on my little fingers with splits that I get down the middle of each if I let them grow just a little too long.

.  They have a gluey-stick substance that you put on the nail and then press them on.  They are the Im-Press brand and they have great colors available, or like a French-style as well.

You REALLY have to PRESS them on, and I mean REALLY press or you will get like an air pocket in the adhesive part, and then they won't stay on as good.

Inexpensive too!  Available at Walgreen's, CVS, Target etc.

They say "lasts up to a week"....I don't think it was quite a week when I used the first set, but it was pretty close!

Stop on by again soon!

TUESDAY TIP! ADDING A DROP OF THIS TO YOUR FOUNDATION CAN SAVE YOUR SKIN!

Hey again ladies!!   Today I made the choice of talking about dry skin, and foundation.  No matter how much we try, when it's dry, (hey, I am a poet and I don't know it!) foundation can make your skin look even more dry.  So, adding a drop of any kind of facial oil to your foundation will help a great deal.

I really like this Macadamia Oil I got and Bliss Stay'cation is one of my favorite foundation.

This is just one drop of the oil, and below I am mixing it with a blending stick (From the Real Techniques Prep & Prime Limited Edition Set available at Kohl's) in the palm of my hand, and then I go in with a brush to blend it on to my face.

This really helps in winter months.

Hope you enjoyed this "Tuesday Tip"

I will be posting again soon!

FRIDAY AWESOME SKINCARE REVIEW!

OK, so I don't mince my words...........I can do that.......I am 59 today!
My Friday Skincare Review for today is a totally awesome product that I just tried "because it was there".... no, not really.  I tried it because I really like Pixi Beauty and I have purchased many of their products in the past.  I have ordered on line from their website, and I have also purchased at Target.  The item I am reviewing today is one I got at Target back in December.  Sadness abounds as my tube of this wonderful night cream called "Beauty Sleep Cream" is almost empty................
Never fear, I have just ordered another one, so I should get it soon!

I love love love the packaging of Pixi...but I know.........what's important is what's inside the tube, and how well it works.  I love the feel of my skin when I apply this, and I love the way my skin looks when I wake up in the morning.   IMHO.........this is a wonderful product, and at $24.00 for 1.18 fl. oz., it's not too expensive so it's affordable for just about anyone.  Do yourself a favor, and give this one a try.
If you have tried this, please leave a comment below, and give me your thoughts!

Review - CATRICE Cosmetics Highlightng Powder

So, have you been hearing all the hype (warned you before not to fall victim!) about the La Rose Blush Powder from Lancome?  It's a pinkish cast highlighter that's dusted all over a silk rose, it's in a round box, very pretty...............but $60.00??  I think not!  I have actually even seen it on ebay selling for over $90.00!!  I know..........get out of town, right?

Well, I am here to tell you the following...........there is an alternative............and..............
it's less than $6.00!  Yup, you read that right.  $6.00. CATRICE Cosmetics Highlighting Powder is the color Stardust #010.
I got mine at Ulta, and it's totally beautiful!

Samantha Schuerman featured these two items in a YouTube video I watched from February 3rd, and I have the link below for you at the end of this review.  She compared this REALLY HIGH PRICED Lancome item to the Catrice Highlighting powder, so I just had to order the CATRICE product. I totally love it.  It's a very creamy powder highlighter with a pinky rose cast.  With my fair skin, it really looks lovely!!

Samantha's Video below:
 https://youtu.be/zD_s8gDeK20

I hope this gives you a tip on spending your money wisely!!  If you want to spend or have 60.00 to spend on something like the Lancome ( and I love some Lancome products...don't get me wrong!)  then have at it.  But you could buy 10 of the Catrice product for what you would spend on this one this!

Have a great day, and see you next time!
