New Mascara from The Balm! SCUBA Water Resistance Formula

I have eye allergies, so I am always on the lookout for a good waterproof/water resistant mascara formula.
The Balm has finally come out with a water resistant formula, and I am so happy!
The brush is a bristle style, not rubber. It's good at separating the lash hairs, and the photo of my eye below, is 2 coats.
I took this picture with no eye makeup on so you could see my lashes in full with nothing else to hide them.  I don't have the greatest lashes in the world, so I usually spend a lot of time on them in my makeup routine.
So far, I am pretty impressed with this new item from The Balm!

MY FREE VISIT TO ULTA!

Not sure how many of these coupons went out, but I got a $10.00 coupon from ULTA in the mail a week or so ago that expires on August 5th.  I usually wind up forgetting to use these things, so since I was out and about and picking up something from my department at Kohl's today, I ran two doors down to take advantage of a free $10.00.

When I say free, I am not kidding!

Since I had purchased the Rainbow Highlighter from Makeup Revolution a couple weeks ago, I wanted to try some more product. I went to the display, and found that their baked chalet blushes are only $5.00 each!!

I picked up the two colors below, so I spent $0.00 !!!  Oh yeah!  Now that is what I call savings!  Because these are baked, they should last quite a while!!

Throwback Thursday! Beauty Trends of the 1940's

Beauty trends of the 1940's was glamour, glamour and MORE glamour!  Women wanted to look like their favorite Hollywood starlet's, as some do today, but some of them today are so wacked out and just strange that I don't want to look like any of them for the most part.

I would have been very happy to have lived in the 40's as the trends were stunning for makeup and hair.

Here are a few below!

                                                  The iconic Lucille Ball

The stunning Jane Wyman

The sought after look of the one and only Ginger Rogers

The captivating Gloria De Haven

Here is a common look of a 40's hairstyle

One of my all time favorite actresses of the 30's and 40's is the beautiful Vivian Leigh
This is her look in 1948.

I hope you enjoyed this look back at the 40's today on TBT!!

My Honest Review of Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Matte Revolution Lipstick!

It sends me chills that I would actually spend $34.00 on a lip color.....but after hearing so many great things about this product, I just had to do it.

Let me say, as I feel the quality, the feel and the coverage is "worth" the cost, I will not buy one again.  That is just way to expensive........unless you are rolling in $$!

The packaging in the box that was shipped to me is amazing.  If I am paying for that in the cost of the lip color, then the value comes down.  Here is what I received:

The product itself is in a beautiful gold colored tube, and the shape of the lipstick is really different.

Like I said, as I think it's a great lipstick, I will not buy it again..........but I do give it a

My Honest Review of Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips

After seeing a favorite YouTuber that I watch do a review on the Lip Whips from Beauty Bakerie, I was impressed.  She just raved about them and some other products.

These Lip Whips are long wear matte liquid lip colors and I am a user of this type of products so I know what I am doing.  They send do's and don't for application, drying, etc.  I did everything they said............

The result?  These things are THE WORST I have tried yet, and I have had some really good ones!  Bad bad and more bad is my honest opinion.  These are very expensive too!!

This company is owned by a woman and I really wanted to like these to support a female owned company.  I am sorry to say I can't.  I did send them back for a refund, as I shelled out close to $40.00 for the two.  Not only were the colors bad, but the coverage was aweful, it cracked apart on my lips after the dry-down.  And look what else happened!

My lips are totally stuck together after the allotted time to let them dry.

Just all around bad!

I give these a HUGE thumbs down!  Save your money!

TUESDAY Tip of the Week!

For Matte and "long wear" lip colors, you will get your best performance if you line your lips AFTER the product has dried down.  This way the lip liner will not adversely affect the performance and wear of that lip product.  Doing the liner AFTER you have applied and "dried" that liquid lip, you can perfect anyplace that you might have had a boo-boo happen!  We have all done it, so don't feel bad!

Speaking of Matte Liquid Lip Colors........I will be doing a faves and fails coming shortly!!

New Foundation I have Discovered!

Drug store brands have really started to step up their game lately..........that makes me happy!  I have been gravitating more and more to "higher end" beauty products but they can be costly.  Now, it has to be really something that I want to have in my collection, and it really needs to blow me away before I will invest over $40.00 on something.

I saw a few of my favorite YouTubers talking about this foundation from COVER GIRL called "SMOOTHERS."  I looked for it at Walgreen's today, and it was there, and it is very reasonable in price at $8.79.

I had a $10.00 rewards banked up, so I didn't really pay anything for this product!

I have a great deal of pink in my skin, so I chose the shade that did have that undertone, and that one for me was #740, natural beige. I went a little deeper now because I do have a tan.  If I stick with this product I would drop down several shades for fall and winter.

There are 12 shade choices so it has something for everyone.  The product is in a squeeze tube and you get 1 fl. oz.  This formulation is hydrating, so for dryer, aging skin I think it will be great.  It's not super thick, but did not run down my arm after I placed it there either.

If you are looking for a nice foundation at a reasonable cost, I would suggest this one!

THROWBACK THURSDAY! Makeup Styles of the 70's!

As I was a tween, teen and after teen all during the 70's, that fashion, makeup and hair era had a great influence on my style, even today.  There were some pretty bad looks then, but there were some really beautiful and creative trends that have stuck around.

Who could forget Debbie Harrie and Blondie........

and Farrah Fawcett

and...........Disco!

And Charlie's Angels after Farrah left.........

I hope you enjoyed this look back at the 70's!

The Worst Primer....Ever!

I bought the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer about six months ago. I used it several times, and was not impressed for the cost. It pilled up on my skin over moisturizer, and just did not perform as I thought it should. I layed off it for a while, and tried it again today. Same results. Thick, cakey, and pilled up again. I'm done!  BAD! So disappointed in this. Gonna declutter this one for sure.
